There were several exciting events surrounding the conference and all were attended in flocks.

Southern Vales:
The bus left Adelaide 10am Thursday 27th September.
First stop was Wirra Wirra Winery for a Tasting and Tour.
A glass of Moscato on arrival, then tour of the winery, and another tasting in the Original Ironstone Cellars with the Winemaker.
Then lunch at the renowned Red Poles who have won many awards for their ‘Fine mix of Food Wine & Art’. Red Poles is hosted the "Pushing boundaries" exhibition where artists push clay or the idea of clay, into varying contemporary artistic interpretations. Participating artists were Anne Mercer, Peter Sinclair, Lesa Farrant, Violet Cooper, Marie Littlewood, Andy Wilson, David Woolaway, John Colman, Geraldine Krieg, Kerry Rochford.
The next treat was a visit to Damon Moon’s heritage-listed home and studio, which is situated in the historic village of Willunga. There was an eclectic selection of Damon's work on display, from early Asian wares to 1960s Australian modernism and Funk, as well as a range of Damon’s spanning a twenty year period.
Before returning to the bus a stroll down Willunga’s High Street, where a selection of pubs, coffee shops and cellar doors were enjoyed by those not content with a diet of purely clay.
The bus returned to Adelaide 5pm.
Adelaide Hills:
The bus left Adelaide 10am Thursday 27th September.
First stop was a visit to Bennett’s Pottery a privately owned family company established in 1887 and one of the oldest working commercial potteries in Australia.
John Bennett discussed the challenges of running a commercial pottery in the 21st century and competing with cheap imports.
Then into the Hills to Aptos Cruz to view the ‘Enduring Forms’ exhibition with 8 Ceramic Artist; Bob Connery, Janet deBoos, Merran Esson, Simone Frazer, Neville French, Suvira McDonald, Catherine Reid & Avital Sheffer, and Adelaide’s very own Milton Moon.
Then it was on to Historic Hahndorf for lunch stop and a visit to Bamfurlong Fine Crafts exhibiting SA Ceramic Artists.
On to Little Hampton Brickworks, who is celebrating its 120th birthday this year, to see the brick making process from start to finish and a 21 metre long oil kiln in action. Also heritage listed kilns big enough to walk in. This is FIRING on a mammoth scale.
The bus return to Adelaide 5pm.
Special Event
The conference Party "Rock the Frock" was a fantastic event with strong attenddance, dancing by all and a very cool band led by Gerry Wedd.
The kiln filler parcel pass was a big success with every one taking home a treasure!!
There was fairy floss and flamingos, yummy food and all in all every one had a blast!
Suitcase Sale
During Sunday's lunch break, we held a Pot Market!
The place was a buz with people selling and buying each others wares .
There were about 35 stalls and every one found a treasure!!

The conference Trades fare was located right along side the conference registrations at the University of South Australia.
